The Experience of a Lifetime: Meeting Heroes at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
I was sitting in my car, a Brawn, ready to take on the infamous hill climb at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The rain poured down around me, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nerves. My dad would be driving the car up the hill, and I had no idea what to expect. As we waited for the start of the event, I couldn't help but think about how cool it was to be there, surrounded by all these amazing cars and my favorite Formula One drivers.
As we made our way to the starting line, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer size of the Brawn. It was an SUV, of all things, and yet it looked like something out of a superhero movie. My dad took his place behind the wheel, and as he put the car into gear, I felt my heart racing with excitement. We were off, hurtling up the hill in the pouring rain. The sound of the tires screeching against the pavement was music to my ears, and I couldn't help but feel like I was living in a dream.
As we crested the top of the hill, my dad took his foot off the gas and coasted for a moment, letting us take in the view. The rain was still pouring down, but it didn't seem to matter - everything felt alive and electric. My dad grinned at me, and I could see the excitement in his eyes. This was what he loved about racing - the thrill of speed, the rush of adrenaline. And now, here we were, experiencing it together.
We took a break, and my dad told me all about Rubens Barrichello's incredible season with Brawn. It was a story I had heard before, but hearing it from him made it feel even more special. From a team that was on the brink of collapse to one that dominated the sport, it was an incredible turnaround. And at the heart of it all were two brilliant drivers - Rubens and Jenson.
As we made our way back to the car, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this experience. Meeting my heroes, driving a Brawn up a hill in the rain - it was a day I would never forget. We took some time to chat with Rubens and Eduardo Barrichello, who had come to take part in the event. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone buzzing about the upcoming season.
With the help of Jeep and the guys at FDA, we managed to capture some amazing footage of Rubens driving up the hill. It was a shame that the rain made it difficult to get a good soundbite, but the visuals more than made up for it. The Brawn performed flawlessly, its engine roaring as Rubens took it up the hill. It was like something out of a movie.
As we walked away from the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disappointment that our filming session had run out of space on the camera's memory card. But my dad reassured me that it didn't matter - we would make do with what we had. And besides, we were having too much fun to worry about technology.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed is an event like no other. It's a celebration of speed, style, and motorsport, with something for everyone. From vintage cars to modern supercars, it's an experience that will leave you breathless. And if you're lucky enough to attend, you might even get to meet your heroes - or at least see them in action.

I wish so I got in touch with my amazing friends at Alfa Romeo and Jeep and said have you got a drive for him anyway yeah we have so we've sorted him out a drive in a Jeep track Hawk to drive up the hill so hopefully you'll be here very very soon and then we'll get him in the car he's running a little bit late it's raining but this should be just a little bit of fun here he comes just inside mates how are you I'm good man I'm good so guys this is Eduardo butter cow cello but akela whatever your car is there might get anything driving enjoy don't drive big job get your helmet few jobs you've got guess in pictures man that's how you feeling dude just enjoy it man at least you've got four-wheel drive so we've managed to get him in the car he's think he's got a briefing from the drivers who will be driving he's got a pro next to him in the passenger seat but he's super super excited when I spoke to me the ball last night he was willing to learn the track he races anyway but it's such a brilliant thing to be able to give him this experience I'm gonna see if I can get a quick word with him before he goes up he's back compulsory photo shoot now that is there that is a happy smile yes Megan are on it you imagine how the guys go up so fast it's wet my car yeah yeah so mate how was that that was great I did not know what to expect actually because it's rainy I didn't know the car yeah I didn't know the track you still enjoyed it that's good fast is that garlic it's really fair of it's for an SUV it's like what on earth so we are now off to the start line because your gentlemen Rubens was just wicked well this certainly has been a festival of speed for meeting your heroes for me the story of Braun the year that they won the World Championship in this car I still one of the greatest Formula one stories of all time you know from a team that was on its knees and wasn't racing they lost their engine and then they basically strapped the Mercedes engine into the back of what was a Honda chassis and renowned absolutely smashed it and with Rubens and Jensen just brilliant so he's great and they stay here and kind of try and get some footage of Rubens going up the hill I'm just so chuffed that with the help of Jeep and the guys at FDA we managed to make her part hose day it's a shame they don't still make a noise like that about three it's raining yeah slippy gonna give us a bit of donuts and real action or is it just about get in the car back we might be I think rain can send us make it more fun so yeah B should be good unfortunately no smoke from the tire now let's try to do maybe some donuts bro nods and let me go fast so get some spray yeah you just had someone come up give you some valuable tips for the for the season yeah someone just told me to go a bit quicker in the next race that's a good plan good plan brilliant always good to have a bit of a chat with the current f1 driver vile Tory bought us who's driving this actually let me just spin you around so so the beauty of having a media pass and getting onto the grid is you can get up close and personal with all of these cars unfortunately our film that much footage this week that this cameras just decided to fill its memory card which is really really annoying so I'm now on my iPhone but we will make do I'm sure it'll be fine oh yeah you're living in Sao Paulo okay so guys I'm going to draw that video to a quote I had to have the Alpha Romero Racing f1 car the bike so the odium driving that kind of turned into a bit of an f1 special but yeah what a brilliant
