The upcoming year is shaping up to be a pivotal one for Apple enthusiasts and professionals alike. As we approach 2019, there's been much speculation about what's in store for the tech giant's latest offerings. For MacBook and iMac users, it seems that some pretty light and non-groundbreaking updates are on the horizon. The long-rumored Mac that runs off the iPhone-style chip doesn't appear to be likely for 2019, which means that users can expect some minor tweaks rather than a full-fledged overhaul.
However, Apple has already announced its plans to release a new display with the headless desktop. Unlike other products on this list, there's no guessing game involved here - Apple has confirmed that it will indeed be releasing a new display. This is exciting news for fans of Apple's displays, which have always been known for their sleek design and top-notch performance. The current Thunderbolt display, which was discontinued in 2016, had a utilitarian look that didn't quite live up to the expectations of many users.
With the release of the new Mac Pro, Apple is once again making a big push into the professional market. This desktop computer for programmers, videographers, and other creative professionals is supposed to be modular, hinting at the possibility of customers being able to expand its features. While there aren't many details available just yet, it's clear that this new Mac Pro will be extremely powerful and expensive. Apple has been trying to reassert itself in this space after a few years of ceding ground to Microsoft.
In recent years, Apple has struggled to keep up with the design standards set by its competitors. As someone who does video work professionally and is also trained as a graphic designer, it's clear that there's been a disconnect between Apple's products and the needs of creative professionals. However, with the release of this new Mac Pro, Apple is hoping to change that. The company has always been known for its focus on aesthetics, and it's exciting to think about what kind of design will be incorporated into this product.
Apple's decision to release a new display is also seen as an opportunity to move forward from some of the older designs that have been criticized for their dated look. The current Pro displays from LG have been widely panned for their utilitarian design, which simply doesn't compare to Apple's more refined aesthetic. Samsung has recently made waves with its innovative space-saving displays, and it will be interesting to see if Apple can follow suit.
There's also always a chance that Apple might surprise us with some new products or announcements that nobody saw coming. A "one more thing" moment, perhaps something like AirPods or the Apple Watch, would be exciting for the community and would mark a significant shift in Apple's product strategy. However, it's worth noting that 2019 is shaping up to be a relatively quiet year for new product releases from Apple.
Despite this, there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about what's coming down the pipeline. For users who are already part of the Apple ecosystem, there's much to look forward to in 2019. The release of new Mac Pros and displays will undoubtedly bring some much-needed power and performance upgrades to these products. Additionally, the company has a history of surprising us with innovative new features or categories that we never saw coming.
One thing that would be great to see from Apple this year is a renewed focus on innovation and pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of technology. For too long, there's been a perception that Apple has become complacent and is simply relying on incremental updates rather than truly revolutionary new products. By introducing new categories or features that challenge our expectations, Apple can reclaim its position as a leader in the tech industry.
Ultimately, 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year for Apple fans. With the release of new Mac Pros, displays, and possibly even some surprise announcements, there's plenty to look forward to. Whether you're already part of the Apple ecosystem or just considering making the switch, now is a great time to get on board. "WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey it's Chris and this year I'm gonna do a better job of making daily tech this channel a community where we can get together and talk about as Apple fans as tech fans our favorite products and that's why I'm really excited about an article that I saw in Business Insider talking about what we could expect from Apple in 2019 and I wanted to give you my take first of all I'm really excited about this subject because for the last couple of weeks it seems like everything talking about Apple has just been super negative focus is on the stock price and just how Apple is doing and you know what as an Apple fan there's so much to be excited about in 2019 like I'm a Mac and iPad user every day iPhone every day Apple watch lots of other Apple products every day I'm very invested in this ecosystem if you don't know why you should check out my video which I made on the Apple ecosystem which I'm gonna link up down below so regardless of the quarterly stock price which anyone can say anything they want about I don't even care I'm excited heading into 2019 for what's new with Apple oh really quick before I get any further a lot of people on a bunch of different social networks including YouTube here have been asking me about that custom wallpaper that I made on the iPad pro that was in the thumbnail for last video I'm gonna link that up like I told you that I would down in the description today so go look for it okay so how do we collectively even have any idea what's gonna be on the menu in terms of what Apple is about to roll out in 2019 well the article actually states this really well Apple never comments on future products actually they almost never but thanks to a robust ecosystem of journalists analysts and rumour mongers we can put together a pretty good preview of what to expect from Apple in 2019 obviously from years past we kind of have a framework of what we know Apple announces and when so what we can do is kind of guess at what might be coming this year and of course those guesses could be wrong we don't know for sure what is absolutely coming but still it's fun to guess so we are gonna guess and I'm gonna start things off with some of the less obvious stuff the most exciting new product Apple could launch in 2019 is a pair of high-end over ear headphones I'm starting off with this because it's fresh its new and based on how awesome air pods are I think this is something that we can all get really excited about so basically what if you combine all the features everyone loves about ear pods automatically on and connected one tab set up seamless switching between devices with over the ear noise cancelling headphones with possibly ridiculously good sounding audio kind of like the home pod like look at Microsoft Surface headphones those look amazing I would love to see Apple's version Apple owns beats already but presumably this would be Apple branded rather than beats branded and I think that makes sense beats is its own thing really and honestly just being honest I would rather have just pure apple headphones in October and analysts predicted that Apple would release a new iPad model with a smaller screen a revival of the iPad Mini which was last updated in 2015 it's expected to be a low-cost iPad with a screen about eight inches big this could be pretty exciting at least I think so because I like the iPad Mini it's really a chill device if you need to just read or you want to watch some YouTube you can grab it and go hang out and relax just it's a good size but the thing is it's really underpowered right now in 2019 it's so underpowered right now that sometimes it's a struggle for me to even pick it up and use it because I'm used to the iPad pro when I go pick this up and just do something simple like scroll and I see that stutter it's just oh it's hard personally I could not get by on just the iPad Mini at least in this current form factor I'm way to use to the iPad pro and everything that allows me to do and this on the other hand is really more of a consumption device but that's cool for what it is I think it's really more of an extra device for most people but I think a lot of people would really love to see this update Apple makes its own cases for older iPhones that effectively increase the battery life of the device at the expense of thinness but it's never released one for the new 10 series devices including the iPhone 10 and the iPhone 10s but 95 Matt found hints inside Apple code that the company is working on these products and they could be released soon to be honest I really don't like battery cases sometimes they're just a necessary evil I usually prefer ultra-thin cases I made a whole video about it you guys like it too apparently because it was a popular video only could have down below if you missed it but maybe this could be a good thing no battery case on the planet actually looks really great but I think the power users out there who would demand something like this at least deserve something that's made by Apple and hopefully something that looks even better which wouldn't be all that hard to do then the last version Apple said that it planned to release the air power wireless charger in 2018 when the iPhone 10 came out but the calendar year came and went without an official launch or comment the news of air power being launched in 2019 would honestly land with a big thud I think the reason is so many people companies in the meantime since the announcement have come out with air power alternatives and look-alikes and copycats it would kind of be more or less a joke and I'm fully prepared to eat those words if it turns out to be amazing and worth the wait trust me here's my stance on this and lots of things I would always rather have an official Apple accessory versus a third-party accessory so I'd rather have air power if it was available then a knockoff because Apple stuff works better together period Apple has said that it's gonna release a new pair of air pods with wireless charging but there are next-generation versions with additional features in the works - including noise cancellation and water resistance but the new air pods will probably get a price increase at the same time I love Airbus I absolutely love them so a new version is beyond exciting of course if the new air pods include wireless charging it's totally possible that they're waiting for air power to come out first or finish up getting developed so they can release them both at the same time wireless air pod charging would be cool definitely but to me the coolest thing in this potential news is noise cancelling because right now ear pods let in a lot of outside noise and forget noise cancelling right now they're not even very noise isolating so this one feature I think would make whatever you're listening to especially music sounds so much better the number of rumors on the new Apple watch models is surprisingly light but expect new versions alongside the iPhone launched in September last year the Apple watch with the series 4 it got a pretty redesigned which is a big deal because it was the first time that the thing had been redesigned since it debuted it was such a big deal that a lot of people were more excited about the Apple watch news last year than the announcement of the new iPhones which was kind of a first I felt so based on the pattern of the device launching going several years without a redesign and then getting a major redesign I would say that this year's update is gonna be more low-key maybe some new internals maybe some new software features but nothing really huge according to Ming chiku o and analyst for TF international securities with a track record of correctly predicting upcoming products Apple looks poised to release three new phones with the same screen sizes and bodies as the current models they're expected have updated processors potentially a triple lens camera and a new kind of sensor that would allow the rear camera to sense how far away it is from walls and other objects I just have the feeling that this year's iPhones aren't going to make anyone feel like they really have to upgrade or like they're really missing out I hope I'm wrong but that's just my honest guess I'm not an analyst I don't work for Apple I know nothing more than you do but I kind of have this feeling that it might be like one two three years away at least before we really see another iPhone with some features that could really blow us all away you have some bad news for Apple that it's selling less iPhones we reach peak iPhone there's problems in China there's the battery upgrade program where people don't have to buy a new phone as often it's not the end of the world but at the same time I'm guessing that people inside Apple are working really hard on some sort of new strategy and that can't happen just overnight think of it and implement it's gonna take a while to roll that out still if you're just looking to upgrade this year because your old phone is just old and it's time then I think there's a lot to look forward to for you and especially in the camera department the iPhones no longer the undisputed camera King when it comes to smartphones and I missed that I wish that it still held that title I want to know that the phone in my pocket is the best out there this is one thing that Apple used to consistently upgrade to make sure that they were ahead of the competition and if the phone screen in the size and the shape didn't really change you always knew you're gonna get a better camera and that that one feature you were gonna be able to 'lord over every other phone maker it's not the case anymore and I'm really hoping that Apple steps it up in a big way you can also expect Apple to refresh its MacBook and iMac computers with the latest Intel chips and other component upgrades the long rumored Mac that runs off the iPhone style chip doesn't appear likely for 2019 though so probably just some pretty light and non groundbreaking updates coming for I mags and MacBook users this year probably some of the it they said it's coming and frankly I'm really excited about it Apple's displays have always had the best design and those Pro LG displays that we've all been asked to use in the meantime just look like PC displays from the last two decades the design is kind of awful actually in my opinion it's just bad utilitarian so Apple got rid of the Thunderbolt display back in like 2016 I believe and so it's been a couple of years since we had a standalone display it was very iMac looking I hope that we could kind of move forward and pass that imac stand-alone display look it's nice but it's starting you're gonna be excited part of me though does wish the Apple would work really hard to get rid of the notion that they've kind of put things on cruise control and that nothing new is ever coming out and that everything is just getting refreshed and updated that's something that they could do and that they've done in the past by copying some good competitor features and then bringing those into
