Nokia 7.2 hands-on review - Gunning for Google.

There's 4 gigs of RAM 128 gigs of internal storage and a 3500 milliamp hour battery capacity that should hopefully last you a full day and charges via the USB C which supports quick charge 3.0 now you can get the Google pixel 3 and you'll get fast version upgrades as well as security updates but there aren't really a lot of phones in the mid-range category that will offer that level of software support that's why the Nokia self point 2 stands out because it is an Android 1 phone that means you'll get three years of security updates as well as two years of Android version upgrades so at the moment this phone is Android 9pi but when it launches it very well may get Android 10 if not a few weeks later it comes in sign green charcoal and ice and the official availability date is September 24th where you can buy it from Best Buy and Amazon now there's also Denon Kia's 6.2 which is very similar to the Nokia 7.2 it has the same dimensions sized screen so what's different well the camera there isn't a 48 megapixel sensor here it's a 16 megapixel main lens but it does have the same wide-angle lens and the same depth sensor there's also less storage 64 gigs versus 128 gigs and performance isn't going to be as strong because there is the Snapdragon 636 processor instead of the 660 there is the same amount of four gigs of ram HMD isn't planning on bringing the Nokia 6.2 to the US but it costs 209 euros which is around two hundred and twenty-eight dollars and it will come early October as is always the case with HMD smart phones aren't the only things on the table let's talk about some cool feature phones the most interesting of the lot at least to me is the Nokia 2720 which is a flip phone and I really like its design it's not really a dumb phone you're getting smart features because it runs Kai OS so you can access things like YouTube WhatsApp Google Maps Facebook and even more there's a 1.3 inch screen on the front and a 2.8 in screen when you open it up and yes you can flip it shut to end a call it comes in black or white it costs 89 euros which is around $97 and sadly HMV says there are no plans to bring it to the US at the moment it'll be available this September if the flip phone didn't catch your attention the Nokia 812 HMDV is touting it as a new hallmark in durability and you know that means everyone's gonna toss their phones at a brick wall to see how it measures up its ip68 water and dust resistant it meets the military 810g standard so you can weather extreme elements and it can survive drops onto concrete from up to 1.8 meters this is a tough phone it's also running Kai OS are you getting all those smart features that we mentioned before the buttons are big and easy to press if you're wearing gloves there's also a loop at the bottom so you can attach it securely to yourself or to something else and there's also a flashlight at the very top so you can hold it around like a normal flashlight if you're in a dark environment the icing on the cake is battery life HMD says it'll last forty three days in standby mode we don't really know exactly how long it'll last in typical usage but that's still a lost the nokia 801 hundred and nine euros which is around one hundred and nineteen dollars and sadly it's also not coming to the US then there's the Nokia 110 which is the most basic phone on this list there are games like snake and doodle jump but it doesn't run PI OS so you're not getting any of those smart features that we mentioned before the biggest feature is the fact that this can be an mp3 player there's a SD card slot in the phone so you can add your own Tunes up to 32 gigs and that's about it it comes in blue pink or black and it costs 18 euros which is around 20 dollars and it will be available in mid September though it's not coming to the US the nokia 7.2 and nokia 6.2 are shaping up to be strong mid-range phones and of course I'm always happy to see new feature phones especially ones that don't just have smart features but also look visually interesting thanks for watching everyone what do you think about HMD's new phones are you gonna get one let us know in the comments otherwise like subscribe hit that Bell for notifications and head Digital Transcom for more

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everyone HMV global the company that makes Nokia branded phones is really seeing not one not two not three not four not five oh you know actually five new phones the most important if you're in the u.s. might be the Nokia 7.2 a mid-range phone that costs three hundred and forty nine dollars but there's also the Nokia six point two the Nokia 110 the Nokia 808 2 720 all of which we'll take a look at quickly but let's start with the Nokia 7.2 right off the bat you can see that the Nokia 7.2 changes the design of the back it's more rounded and of course Ghana is the vertical camera set up in favor of a round camera module that sticks out you're actually adding one more lens here it's a 8 megapixel wide-angle lens but the main sensor is also very different it's a 48 megapixel sensor and then the third lens is a 5 megapixel depth sensor so it's Zeiss optics here and really the focus on this phone is with this camera experience why is there such a focus on the camera well if you think about it the prime competitor for this phone is the Google pixel 3a a phone that is lauded for its camera and that only costs four hundred dollars so hmd really had to step things up here now we've seen 48 megapixel cameras before and the experience here is not that different it's combining those pixels to create a 12 megapixel photo which means it should give you better low-light photos but of course you can force it to take 48 megapixel photos if you want more details it's gonna be a larger photo file size though here's a quick photo of the 48 megapixel photo from the 7.2 as well as a 12 megapixel photo from 7.2 compared to the Google pixel 3 a photo you can see that the sky is definitely not as good on the pixel through a photo compared to the other two but there is slightly more contrast and details when you zoom in on the pixel Trier's photo still I'd say Nokia 7 points to does give the pixel 3 a a run for its money but the real spotlight of the camera is a feature called size bouquet styles and it worked in portrait mode it borrows from the rich history of Zeiss lenses to apply three distinct bouquet styles called Zeiss modern as I swirl and Zeiss smooth testing these modes the bouquet effect looks really unique and stylish and it definitely does a really good job of outlining the subject those dice effects work on the front 20 megapixel camera as well so you can still use it even if there's no depth sensor on the front like most phones today there is a dedicated night mode it takes multiple images and stacks them together sadly we haven't been able to test yet because it's in daytime and we haven't had this phone at night but we're built-in and hopefully it'll compare to pixels night sight making a return on the Nokia 7.2 is the pure display it's a display that upscales SDR content to HDR all the time so you're getting richer colors more contrast and it specifically supports HDR 10 in Amazon video it's a six point three inch screen and a full HD plus resolution and nokia says that you can get up to 500 nits of brightness so we're on the phone there is a notch here at the top a little teardrop notch which is different from the bigger notch that was on the 7.1 there is a bit of a chin here with the nokia logo at the front but otherwise it's pretty close to bezel less experience with slim bezels all around over on the left side you have a Google assistant key that'll automatically call up Google assistant as well as the SIM tray which also has a micro SD card slot in case you need more space and over on the back you are getting a traditional fingerprint sensor below that camera module you'll be happy to see that there is a 2.5 millimeter headphone jack here so you can use your existing headsets to listen to music and finally on the bottom there is a USB C port for charging as well as a bottom firing speaker on the right side the power button also doubles as an LED notification light so when you get notifications this will light up very similar to what we already saw on the Nokia 4.2 that hmd launched earlier this year in typical Nokia fashion hmd is touting the durability of this phone it has Gorilla Glass 3 on the front on the back which isn't as impressive but around the frame there is a high-tech polymer composite which Nokia says is more durable and more lightweight than polycarbonate one unique feature on this phone is called an ambient mode and it turns on automatically when you charge the phone the mics will start to listen even more closely for the ok Google Hut word essentially turning your Nokia 7.2 into a smart speaker perhaps the only questionable part of the Nokia 7.2 is the processor inside it's the snapdragon 660 which is not as good as the processor in the google pixel 3a which is the snapdragon 670 just using it now it feels fast and fluid but we'll have to put it through its paces to see exactly how it compares to the pixel 3a and other competitors there's 4 gigs of RAM 128 gigs of internal storage and a 3500 milliamp hour battery capacity that should hopefully last you a full day and charges via the USB C which supports quick charge 3.0 now you to see how it measures up its ip68 water and dust resistant it meets the military 810g standard so you can weather extreme elements and it can survive drops onto concrete from up to 1.8 meters this is a tough phone it's also running Kai OS are you getting all those smart features that we mentioned before the buttons are big and easy to press if you're wearing gloves there's also a loop at the bottom so you can attach it securely to yourself or to something else and there's also a flashlight at the very top so you can hold it around like a normal flashlight if you're in a dark environment the icing on the cake is battery life HMV says it'll last forty three days in standby mode we don't really know exactly how long it'll last in typical usage but that's still a lost the nokia 801 hundred and nine euros which is around one hundred and nineteen dollars and sadly it's also not coming to the US then there's the Nokia 110 which is the most basic phone on this list there are games like snake and doodle jump but it doesn't run PI OS so you're not getting any of those smart features that we mentioned before the biggest feature is the fact that this can be an mp3 player there's a SD card slot in the phone so you can add your own Tunes up to 32 gigs and that's about it it comes in blue pink or black and it costs 18 euros which is around 20 dollars and it will be available in mid September though it's not coming to the US the nokia 7.2 and nokia 6.2 are shaping up to be strong mid-range phones and of course I'm always happy to see new feature phones especially ones that
