As I sat watching the opening scene of Shadow and Bone, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and trepidation. The world of Grishaverse was coming alive before my eyes, and I was eager to see how it would be portrayed on screen. As I watched the characters navigate the streets of Ketterdam, I felt like I was transported to a world that was both familiar and foreign.

I have always been fascinated by his enigmatic personality, and it seemed that the actor playing him had captured his essence perfectly. But then there was the anxiety that came with Alexi's decision. The weight of responsibility seemed to be crushing her, and I found myself feeling anxious along with her. "Do it girl! Do it girl!" someone said, but I couldn't help but wonder if she would actually take the leap.

So we are going to watch it together.  I think I'm going to try and fit the entirety of my reactions to the eight episodes into one video  so good luck with that Cari, but also to you. Little background about me, not  that you really care, I am relatively late to the Shadow and Bone game. I read Six of Crows in April  of I think it was 2020, April of 2020. I read Six of Crows and I was obsessed and then  shortly after that, probably the next series that I read was Shadow and Bone and then of course  King of Scars. I absolutely fell in love with it. It's why I got back into reading. It's why I  started a book channel to begin with - is because I just wanted to talk about Six of Crows. It  has changed my life in ways that I'm sure it has changed yours as well if you are watching this.  So just, you know, group hug. Happy for us. I am so excited. I watched the live event this morning.  The cast is just fantastic. Here it is. I'm gonna start it, I'm gonna open Netflix, it's here andlet's do it. Shall we? Let's just, let's just dive in -is there room for me to put it somewhere? I don't  even know how this is gonna work, like am I gonna download it? There's a bit of plant in here to give  you some greenery. I'm scared, should I start it now? Do I need water? Wait I need water. Okay let's go!Stop the last episode is called No Mourners. I don't even want to look at the names of  the episodes ahead of time, it was a mistake, but episode 8 is called No Mourners anyway  continue.Okay so I saw some of this in another video.I'm also so excited to have everything that I pronounce proved incorrect.The set is gorgeous.  I love this, I feel like I have this scene memorized because of how many times I've watched it.I really like the color correcting, the color grading?So yeah we saw this in the morning live event but I'm still hyped!Do it! The casting director!!Wait I can't drink because I know someone's going to show up - oh!I love Freddy so much.That is how I pictured Kaz in my brain, it's insane.I want that sound effect whenever I enter a room.She is so beautiful!She is so pretty! They dropped the investment line so early!No one is like you Inej.Miss Zoya has entered.Then stop eating her food Mal!   Zoya no!The thunder (lightning) in the Fold is so cool!No don't cry, Mal's coming!Oh Grisha women scare you? So this is one thing that I think is actually really cool and Leigh  kind of talked about it in one interview I think. Shadow and Bone was from Alina's point of view  and so we weren't able to see a lot of different things and so the fact that this story, the way  that they're writing it, we're able to see so much of the other characters - thank you to the writers,  thank you to Leigh, I'm very excited about this. I feel like we're gonna get like - my issues with  Shadow and Bone, the reasons I didn't love it as much as I did Six of Crows, is because Six  of Crows had so many different points of view and we got like so many different backstories  but Shadow and Bone, like the characters didn't feel as deep and I didn't - especially like Mal - I  really wasn't connected to him at all. I think we all kind of felt that. But now in this  portrayal, we're seeing a lot more and I'm already loving it and I'm only  20 minutes in so brilliant! Also Jessie Mei Li you are so beautiful as well.Even she's laughing! She's like god damn. Their chemistry is really good.  Scheming face!Inej!Her eyebrow acting!!Lewis Capaldi is cracking me up, I can't get over it.  Don't say it Alexi, dont.I saw this in a preview, I know what happens butjust don't do. Girl don't do it, it's not worth it. I'm not gonna do it girl. And to be fair because  of this great storytelling I do like Mal.   You made me miss Inej killing the Darkling!Are you kidding me?! The first Shadow and Bone-caused divorce.There's a stag on the boat.Why are you never able to kill this one guy? It's always the same guy!My hand has been in like such a tight fist for so long.  Talk some sense into Kaz Brekker, go on Alina.Oh, that's a nice color on you Mal.I see how they will continue the story.  Just like in the books because Cari forgets the plots.Is that how they're ending it? Yeah.   How do I feel eight hours later?I thought they did really good job. I'm super biased because I read the books obviously so I feel like  I had so much other backstory, like I just wonder what people would think if they had  had no access, like if they just jumped into this without any knowledge of the books. Personally as  someone who is a fan of the books I really liked it. I thought that the casting was incredible.  Like it, it was just how I pictured a lot of things like even the set design was how I pictured a lot  of things. I thought the way that they weaved it together was wonderful and it worked and it didn't  seem like they were just doing it to like have the crows randomly be there, it actually made sense.  My only complaint is that the Darkling and Alina didn't really have that many scenes together  pre their like weird romance suddenly. Other than that I thought it was excellent so  I'm gonna go to sleep but thank you for joining me. I might I don't know if I'll make like another  video actually talking about it once I like watch it again or whatever but this was just my  first reaction. The only thing is though I don't, I don't want to see a full Six of Crows remake.  I feel like I was okay with the Shadow and Bone being remade because i wasn't 100% attached  to the story so any changes to it or any anything that wasn't exactly how I pictured it in my head  it wouldn't really matter to me but with Six of Crows like I have it so so embedded in my brain  and it's such a close story to me that I feel like I would not be disappointed but like I don't want  to lose the world that I see in my head because once I watch a reenactment of it, that's what  I'm gonna see so I'm a little worried if they do do like a full Six of Crows one but at the  same time I would probably still love it, I would definitely still watch it, I don't know.
