**The Kitchen Makeover**
As I sat down to tackle my kitchen makeover, I realized that it was going to be a lot of work, but I was excited to get started. My first task was to take off the doors on my cabinets. I knew this would be an easy fix, and I was right. After removing the old hinges, I swapped out the doors with new ones, which took only about three hours to complete. The process was straightforward, and I was able to mock up the doors exactly as they were before by cutting them to size, sanding, priming, and painting.
I was a bit nervous when it came time to add contact paper to my countertops, but I knew it would be worth it in the end. I opted for laminate marble contact paper, which is perfect for kitchens that get wet frequently, like mine with a sink and cups being used all day long. Using a squeegee, I was able to remove any air bubbles and achieve a seamless look. The key to success was making sure the overlap between the pieces of contact paper was as small as possible, and using an abstract pattern that doesn't require exact matching.
After completing my countertops, I moved on to organizing my exposed cabinets. I knew I wanted to display beautiful ingredients in gorgeous glass jars, but I didn't want to buy 500 jars for all the essentials. So, I put my most used ingredients in these glass jars and then hid some of the others that were still in their packaging towards the back of the cabinet. In the far right cabinets, I stored plates, cups, and other items that needed to be washed and put away immediately. To make the most of my space, I also got little stands for lids and pots to put on the bottom shelves, which makes a huge difference.
**The Final Touches**
With all the hard work out of the way, it was time to add the finishing touches to my kitchen makeover. I couldn't wait to decorate and see how everything came together. As soon as Chris began painting the walls, I knew we were in for a treat. He revealed that he had planned an entire design aesthetic for the space, which included a neutral base with a mixture of textures, reminiscent of marble. The addition of blue accents added a touch of elegance to the room.
I was amazed by how much of a difference Chris's vision had made. From the new doors and countertops to the organized cabinets and beautiful decorations, my kitchen now felt like a space I could truly call my own. It was clear that we had worked together seamlessly to bring this makeover to life, and I couldn't be more grateful for his expertise.
**The Final Result**
As Chris finished up the final details of the room, he revealed one last surprise: a stunning new stove top cover. I was blown away by its beauty and functionality – it's perfect for adding a touch of style while keeping my kitchen functional. With that, our kitchen makeover was complete, and I couldn't wait to share it with everyone.
From taking off old doors to adding contact paper to countertops, we had tackled every aspect of the kitchen renovation process. And in the end, it all came together perfectly – a testament to our hard work and creativity. I'm so grateful for this experience and can't wait to see what's next on our list of DIY projects.

know what you can do with the space but even just like a new kitchen towels would be an upgrade honestly I'm really excited ah do me good girl what that was weird that is Vaughn's kitchen I know for a fact that he spends a ton of time in there he's always cooking for us he's just really passionate about using food as means to connect people and I want to make sure that Vaughn has a place where he can do all of those things and have a good time first I'll do some research I'll use all my detective skills to find out who they are and what they like then I'll have two days to completely make over the space in a way that perfectly fits their personality finally the big reveal will show them their new space and see if I was able to translate their digital style into an awesome new room okay first up is Instagram his handle is just at vaughan very iconic look at these macarons macaroons I don't know but they look really good or just pasta pictures well here's a picture of us cute look at this pie okay he only takes pictures of the food that he makes here at tasty he's making so many delicious amazing things at home but his kitchen is not so photogenic so we're gonna change that not only will it be functional and organized but also it's got to be good for the gram you know his style is very classy you look at him in a tuxedo here he likes a lot of high saturation high contrast no pastels or anything wishy-washy he's very bold so that's what we're gonna do let's move on to Facebook look at this picture of him looking so serious and he does have a southern style like he is from North Carolina and kind of preppy but funky style that is something I definitely want to incorporate into the design of this space I think I've gotten what I need from Vaughn social accounts he's got a classy southern style with some funky accents we're gonna put all that into the design for this kitchen and then it's makeover time all right I'm here at Vons I am so excited he has entrusted me with both his keys and his kitchen the first project is painting as usual I have this amazing color called almond latte I love it a lot also I just think a color called almond latte is very suited for Vaughn I'm gonna leave the wall with the cabinet's white but I will give it a fresh coat our second project is converting those top cabinets to open shelving all I'm gonna do there is take the doors off and then line at the insides of the cabinets with contact paper that matches the paint the third project is a stove cover that Chris is gonna make in his workshop and bring over that's gonna give him extra counter space and can also be used as a serving tray on day two I'm gonna tackle these bottom cabinets I did want to paint them bombs landlord was not down with the painting which I totally understand so another project that Chris is doing is making us custom doors those are gonna be a really nice navy blue color and we're gonna make the countertops a marble texture thanks to some handy-dandy contact paper and then this six project is organizing the cabinets I have some really beautiful jars and a couple tips and tricks for keeping pots and pans and Tupperware organized but before I get to any of those projects we have to clear out this kitchen so let's do it our first project of the day is painting and in order to do that I have to put my painting suit on yet again I try to dress cute for these videos you know but I also need to paint and stuff so we're gonna do that really bold blue on the cabinet's I wanted a neutral but I didn't want it to be bland so I went with this almond latte color I think it will be a nice warm touch to the room alright for our next project we are going to contact paper the inside of the cabinet in order to do that the first thing I have to do is remove the door so we can have our exposed shelving these hinges were so easy I actually left them attached to the door so when Vaughn wants to put the doors back on he will literally put in one screw I also hid them under his couch he had some extra space so they're still there for when he moves out and wants to throw them back on and currently measuring the cabinet because I am a little bit worried I don't have enough contact paper the plan was to cover these entirely and leave them exposed however the color that I really like that matches the almond latte wall they only had about four rolls of whereas the white they had a bunch of rolls up 40 40 40 120 and then won me seven ok surround that's 30 is 150 and these are 6-foot 150 is how many I don't trust myself hey Google what is 150 inches and feet 150 inches equal 12 feet 6 inches oh I'm in lot a contact paper going up I'm just cutting that into the correct sizes definitely didn't expect it to be as tricky as it was I started getting very confused there was a lot of conversions going on I had to call him Steph for assistance but if this is the only project you're doing in a weekend oh my gosh so easy this next project is a stove cover where Vaughn can prepare food and also serve food this was inspired by a classic nifty project one of our producers had Thome made so shadow told me I loved it so much I knew I wanted to include it in this makeover I had a lot to do so I passed this off to Chris but seriously it is such an easy project I'm gonna let Chris explain how he got it all together to build this project we just had one single piece of wood that we measured out the size cut everything down and glued it up sanded it and then finished it with a food grade save clear coat a very easy project something that anyone can really do the most important part again is just double-checking your measurements and making sure that your inside dimension is gonna cover the racks on the stove this makeover is moving so fast it's crazy it is the end of day one and I'm so happy with how it turned out Chris bringing the stove cover was just the motivation I need to get excited for tomorrow I'm gonna get some rest head home and it'll be time for day two which is also a real day which totally isn't terrifying me at all I don't know why you would think that alright it was day two I'm feeling really good this morning because all the pieces are starting to come together the first big project for the day is putting on the cabinet doors that Chris made this project is really easy and you don't need a workshop to do it I just had him do it there because space is limited so I will let Chris explain how we did it after taking a look at the cabinet's I realized that the hinges would be easy to just swap doors out the whole process took about three hours or so from start to finish cutting out the doors we just mocked out exactly what they already had cut those sizes out sanded primed and painted the longest thing was just a drawing yes I'm a professional but I think anyone is able to do a project like this as long as you can take good measurements you could handle this project the next project is tackling these countertops I know this is a lot of contact paper for one makeover but it's working so I'm happy with it I got this laminate marble contact paper countertops get wet constantly the sink is there you're putting cups there so I definitely had to get the laminate version and then I just used a squeegee to get out any air bubbles I was pretty nervous when I saw how narrow was because I thought it was gonna be really obvious that it was a bunch of pieces you really can't tell as long as that overlap is as small as possible brain matching doesn't really matter it's an abstract pattern I promise you will not be able to tell I'm really happy with how this turned out now it is time to move on to our last project one of my favorite things in the world organizing with the exposed cabinets I knew I wanted the look of beautiful ingredients in gorgeous class jars but I also knew I was not about to buy 500 jars for all the ingredients that Bond and his roommate have I put their most used ingredients in these glass jars and then that's actually hiding some stuff that is still in packages towards the back of the cabinet then in the far right cabinets I put plates cups all things that you would be washing in the sink and need to put away right away I also got these little stands for lids and pots to put in the bottom cabinets and it makes all the difference you can get them at the dollar store super cheap it just makes everything stand up and makes it visible I find that that's one of the biggest issues in kitchens we want to keep everything visible accessible and ready for some action we are done with our checklist I am so happy this was a lot of work but I feel really good about it now the only thing left to do is decorate this is the fun part let's get it done oh all right here we go we're going into excited oh my god I forgot okay close your eyes little ears okay here this thing feeling there's so much more space to walk open your eyes oh this is insane I love it yeah how did you do that I mean I know like I know she's good I know she's good but I was like what can she possibly do to my kitchen without like knocking down a wall or anything like this looks so good is this a stove top cover yes it is oh oh chic I want to know what everything you did I got to take a deep breath first what are the project what are the projects we did you know if he watches I may watch the first project we did was obviously taking off the doors hey where did it go oh you how do they go on them behind your couch the cabinet doors so amazing so I just did the Front's because these are probably things are reaching for more often and also it just makes a nice little facade that you can hide things behind if you have a lot of pasta you just like got us all this pasta I did get you all you had a little bit know me so well oh I love these I love I hope you like you know like I just want to put contact paper on everything now this is a classic nifty project it's food safe you can cook and you can eat things straight off of here that's amazing because it also looks like it fits perfectly like yeah we never had any room to like chop stuff so we were always chopping on our kitchen table which I just hate it yeah can we talk about these like they're not mine but they are mine how Chris took measurements then he cut plywood to that sides and painted it this looks so good do you like the blue love the blue like beyond love the blue my apartments aesthetic okay let me tell you to lose - Lucy - chic what okay explain to the people what you speak is a solid neutral base with a mixture of textures marble would graze your almond lattes is that the color you must paint about wrinkle and I love it all right all right well let's get some wine wine and hangout she would walk for me thank you so much for watching I had so much fun doing this makeover it was crazy but we got it done I hope that you guys use some of these
