iPhone XS Max vs Samsung Galaxy Note 9

**Comparing the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and iPhone XS Max: Key Differences**

When it comes to choosing between the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the iPhone XS Max, there are several key differences that users should consider. In this article, we'll delve into the various aspects of these two devices to help you make an informed decision.

**Display and Design**

The first thing you'll notice when comparing the Note 9 and iPhone XS Max is their display size. The Note 9 boasts a larger 6.4-inch QHD+ display, while the iPhone XS Max has a slightly smaller 5.8-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. However, the Note 9's display is not just bigger; it also offers a higher resolution and a more immersive viewing experience thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate.

The design of both devices is also noteworthy. The Note 9 features a sleek and premium design with a glass back and a metal frame, while the iPhone XS Max has a similar design language but with a stainless steel frame and tougher glass on the front. However, one key difference between the two is the presence of a headphone jack in the Note 9, which is absent in the iPhone XS Max.

**Camera and Facial Recognition**

When it comes to camera capabilities, both devices offer high-quality cameras, but with some notable differences. The Note 9 has a dual-camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor and a 12MP front-facing camera, while the iPhone XS Max has a single 12MP primary camera and a 7MP front-facing camera. However, the Note 9's camera software is more feature-rich, offering advanced modes like Live Focus and Super Slow-Mo.

In terms of facial recognition, both devices offer facial authentication, but the Note 9's implementation is slightly more secure thanks to its iris scanner in combination with Intelligent Scan technology. The iPhone XS Max uses facial recognition based on the Face ID system, which is also highly secure but may not be as convenient for some users.

**Audio and Stylus**

The audio capabilities of both devices are impressive, with stereo speakers that provide a more immersive listening experience. However, one key difference between the two is the presence of an S Pen stylus in the Note 9, which offers advanced features like Bluetooth connectivity and remote control capabilities. The S Pen also allows for more precision when using the device, making it ideal for note-taking and creative tasks.

**Battery Life**

When it comes to battery life, both devices offer impressive performance, but with some notable differences. The Note 9 has a large 4000mAh battery, which provides all-day battery life even with heavy usage. The iPhone XS Max also has a large battery, but Apple hasn't specified its size, and it's likely smaller than the Note 9's.

However, the Note 9 does come with fast charging out of the box, which is a major advantage over the iPhone XS Max, where fast charging requires purchasing an additional charger. Wireless charging is also supported by both devices, but the Note 9's battery life may be more impressive thanks to its larger capacity.

**Pricing**

Finally, when it comes to pricing, the two devices are far apart, especially in terms of storage options. The base 128GB model of the Note 9 starts at around $900 in the UK and $1000 in the US, while the iPhone XS Max starts at $1100 with a 64GB model, which is significantly more expensive.

The larger storage options on both devices also come at a premium price, with the Note 9's 512GB model starting at around $1300 in the UK and $1500 in the US, compared to the iPhone XS Max's $1450 for its largest 512GB model. This significant price difference is a major factor to consider when choosing between these two devices.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, while both the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and iPhone XS Max offer impressive performance and features, there are some key differences that users should consider. The Note 9's larger display, S Pen stylus, and headphone jack make it an attractive option for certain users, but its price may be a major factor to consider. The iPhone XS Max, on the other hand, offers advanced camera capabilities and a more seamless user experience, but its smaller display and absence of a headphone jack may be drawbacks for some.

Ultimately, the choice between these two devices comes down to individual preferences and needs. We hope this article has helped you make an informed decision when choosing between these two promising devices.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: en- What's up, guys?Saf here on SuperSaf TV.And in this videowe're going to be lookingat the key differencesbetween the iPhone XS Maxand Samsung Galaxy Note9.So these are two of thebiggest devices of 2018,pun intended. And they both do feel quitelarge in the hand as well. They're definitely big devices. The Note9 is slightly thickeras well as slightly tallerbut the XS Max is slightly wider. Now they also weigh quitea bit both over 200 gramsand they are definitelytwo handed devices. They also have similar sized displays. We've got 6.4 inches on the Note9and we've got 6.5 inches on the XS Max.However on the XS Max,we do have that infamous notch. On the Note9 there is no notch. We've just got smalltop and bottom bezels. So that is something to bear in mind. But the quality of displays,we've got amazingdisplays on both devices. Some of the best out there in the market. They both have OLED technologywhich means you're goingto have deep blacks, very high contrast ratios, vibrant colors, and very good viewing angles. Now the XS Max as withthe X does have 3D touch. That's the pressure-sensitive display. You can push down harder oncertain items and things. It's going to give you more options. With the Note9,you do not have 3D touchalthough the home buttonis pressure sensitive. And you can push that hard,it's going to take youback to the home screen. However the XS does getthe advantage for 3D touch. Now when it comes to resolutionwe've got very highresolution displays on both. However the Note9 does havea higher pixel density. So these are more pixels per inchand that does give it a slight edgewhen it comes to sharpness. So the Note9 is going to giveyou overall sharper details. It's not going to be amassive massive differencebecause we haven't goneover 400 PPI pixel density. But there is going to be a slightadvantage here on the Note9.Now let's talk about the buildand design of both devices. Both very very premium. With the Note9 you've got a metal framewith curved Gorilla Glass 5panels on the front and back.So they do cut in from the front as well.Quite a unique look andthat's also the reasonwhy it's not as wide as the XS Max.The XS Max has a stainless steel framealso with glass panelson the front and back.So both devices look andfeel very very premium. And they are both also IP68water and dust resistantwhich is great.Previously we had IP67 on the iPhone X.So it's great that thisyear we have IP68 as wellon the iPhone XS Max.Now moving on to the internals. Both of these are packingthe latest and greatest. On the Note9,we've got either the QualcommSnapdragon 845 processoror the Samsung Exynos 9810.Very smooth and fast, one ofthe fastest devices out there. The iPhone XS Max comes withthe Apple A12 Bionic chip. Now Apple was saying compared to last yearyou can have up to 50%better graphics performancewhich should be really really good.Of course we can do some side-by-side testonce we've got the retailversion of the XS Max in hand. But regardless, both of these are some of thefastest devices out there. In terms of the operating systems, for the XS Max,it is going to come outof the box with iOS 12.With the Note9 we've gotAndroid Oreo version 8.1with the Samsung Experience skin on top.Now which one of these is better? It's going to come down toyour personal preference. Both very very strongoperating systems of course. Now what about the storage?Well the Note9 definitelygets the advantagein this categoryand that's because it comeswith a base of 128 gigabytes. And there's also a 512 gigabyte version. You can also expand this aswell with a micro SD card.So you can get up to aterabyte of storage in totalon the Note9 which is absolutely insane. With the XS Max, youstart at 64 gigabytes. There is also a 256 gigabyte version,as well as a 512 gigabyte version, although the 512 gigabyteversion is priced very very high. We'll talk about that a little bit later. And of course the XS Max aswith all other Apple devicesdoes not have expandablememory unfortunately.Moving onto the cameras. Both of these have dual camera setups. We have a primary camera aswell as a telephoto camera. On the Note9 we have a dualaperture on the primary lens.So we've got F1.5 and F2.4.It's going to switch between thesedepending on the light in your scene. And it does do really really wellwhen it comes to low-light images. The secondary camera on theNote9 has an F2.4 aperture. And it's going to give youtwo times optical zoom. The XS Max also with the telephoto camerais going to give youtwo times optical zoomand that also has an F2.4 aperture. But the primary camerahas an F1.8 aperture. It doesn't have dual aperturelike we've got on the Note9.Now both devices have a portrait mode.So this is where it's goingto blur the backgroundand give you a veryprofessional-looking shot. And this time you can alsoedit the blur on both devices.Apple kind of made a big deal about thisalthough it has been availableon many devices in the past.Of course we can do a SuperSafstyle camera comparisonbetween these two as soon aswe've got the retail deviceof the XS Max in hand.If you want to see that firstthen make sure you have subscribedand switch on your notifications. Now when it comes to video, both devices do film 4Kat 60 frames a secondand also 1080p at 240 framesa second for slow motion. However the Note9 doesget an advantage herefor super slo-moand that is 960 frames a second at 720p.It is just a small burstbut you can get somevery interesting resultsif used well. Now for the first timethe iPhone XS Max is finally finallygoing to be having stereo audio recording. This is something that I'veranted about many many timesin my camera comparisonsbecause of mono audio recording,it did not sound asrich as Samsung deviceswhich have had stereo audio recordingfor a very very long time. And I can't wait to actuallyput these side-by-sideto see which one of these sounds better. Now for the front-facing cameras,on the Note9 we've got eight megapixelswith an F1.7 aperture. On the iPhone XS Maxwe've got seven megapixelswith an F2.2 aperture. Now both devices alsosupport a portrait modefrom the front-facing camera as wellwhere it's going to blur the background. However on the XS Maxyou can edit the blur after the factlike you can do on therear-facing cameras. This is something youcan't do on the Note9,so the XS Max does get the advantage here. Now moving on to security, the XS Max does have Face ID.It's improved compared to last yearand it's the most securefacial recognitionthat's out there, Apple are claiming. And in my experience Face ID on the iPhonehas worked really really well. And I expect it to work reallywell on the XS Max as well.On the Note9 you dohave facial recognitionalthough it's not as advancedas what you've got on Face ID.However you also have the iris scanner. Now you can use the facial recognitionas well as the iris scanner in combinationand that is Intelligent Scanand you've also got a fingerprint scanneron the back of the device. So you've got plenty ofoptions here on the Note9.On the iPhone XS Max althoughthe facial-recognitionmight be more secure, you do only have the one option. Now moving on to audio, both devices have stereo speakers, one in the earpieceand one bottom far end.So this is great. You're going to have avery immersive experienceespecially on those larger displays. However the iPhone XSMax as previous iPhonesdoes not have a 3.5millimeter headphone jack. This is something that the Note9 does haveand I know it's somethingthat's very very importantto a lot of you guys.So the Note9 does get an advantage here. Now the Note9 also hasone additional featurewhich pretty much no other device hasand that is the S Pen.This is a stylus thatis going to allow youa lot more precision whenyou're using the device. But it's also going to allowyou lots of advanced features. And this year the S Pen alsohas Bluetooth connectivitywhich means you canremotely control the Note9with the S Pen.Something you've notbeen able to do before. This is really useful fortaking selfies and things. You can also connect theNote9 using Samsung Dexwhich is built-in to a larger displayand use the S Pen as a clicker. So this is quite interestingand may be useful especiallyif you're a business user. Now moving on to batteries, the Note9 does come with avery large 4000 mAh battery. The iPhone XS Max,Apple haven't specifiedthe size of the battery. They've only said that you'regoing to get 1.5 hours more usagecompared to the iPhone X.That is very very difficult to quantify. However we should begetting the exact sizeof the XS Max battery soonwhen somebody decides topop it open and see inside. In terms of battery life, between these two of coursewe're going to have to use theseover a longer period of timeto tell how well these are. However the XS Max,Apple are claiming is the biggest batterythat they've had in an iPhone before. So it should perform bettercompared to previous models. Now both devices do supportwireless charging which is greatand both also support fast charging. However on the Note9,you do get the fast chargerout of the box, it's included. On the XS Max it isnot included in the boxlike we didn't have on the iPhone X eitherwhich means you're going to have to go outand buy it separately ifyou want fast charging. This is pretty steep as well.It costs around 75 poundsand that is on top of whatthe XS Max already comes in atwhich is a price that'shigher compared to the Note9.So the Note9, right now you can pick it upstarting at 900 pounds in the UK,around a thousand dollars in the US.That is for the base 128 gigabyte model. With the XS Max, it's goingto be starting at 1100 poundsor 1100 dollars and that isfor the 64 gigabyte base model. Now if you're going up to 512 gigabytes, you're looking at 1450 pounds or dollars. That's a lot of money.Comparing that to the 512gigabyte version of the Note9,you'll be paying $200more for the iPhone XS Maxor around 350 pounds more in the UK.So the Note9 is coming in much cheapercompared to the XS Max.And of course that's goingto be a big big factorthat's going to come into playbecause they have never been so far apartwhen it comes to price. There we have it, guys. Those are the key differencesbetween the Samsung GalaxyNote9 and the iPhone XS Max.All summed up for you SuperSaf style. Now in terms of my opinions,I mean both very promising devices.I think the price differenceis a huge huge factorbetween these two, specially this yearand that's somethingthat you're definitely goingto have to bear in mindespecially if you're thinking ofgoing for the larger storage version. What do you guys think of thedifferences between these two?Which one would you go for?Definitely drop me a comment belowand let me know.I hope you enjoyed thisvideo and found it useful. If you did, then do hit thatthumbs up button for me.It really does help me out.And as mentioned earlier,as soon as we've got the XSMax retail version in handwe'll be doing lots ofSuperSaf style
