Adam Savage Unboxes The Ghostbusters Ecto-1 1_6 Scale Vehicle!

The Ecto-1 is an amazing piece of automotive history, and I'm thrilled to share this experience with you all. My mind is literally blown by this thing. This is the 50s-style Ford Taurus, and it's been meticulously crafted to bring back the nostalgic feel of a classic car from the iconic Ghostbusters franchise.

First off, let's talk about how this thing was found and brought to us. The Big Bad Toy Store had obtained the stock, and they sent it straight to us. Blitzway's work on this is truly exceptional – they've managed to bring back the essence of the Ecto-1 in stunning detail. From the exterior design to the interior trim, every aspect has been carefully considered to create an accurate representation of the Ghostbusters vehicle.

Now, let's dive into some of the amazing features that make this toy so special. The first thing that caught my attention was the short antenna. It's a clever little detail that adds to the overall authenticity of the car. And then there's the whip antenna – it's a bit longer and has a more futuristic look to it, which is perfect for the Ghostbusters' iconic vehicle.

One of the things I love about this toy is how well-made everything feels. The Mirror foreign antenna sits snugly in place, and the short antenna attaches securely to the roof. It's amazing how much thought went into creating these little details that make a big difference in the overall experience.

Of course, no Ghostbusters toy would be complete without some sort of special effects. In this case, we've got a built-in MP3 player with an SD card slot – you can store your own music and play it through the car's speakers. As we took the doors off, we were greeted by a gorgeous interior design, complete with a classic 50s-style dashboard. The wooden steering wheel is truly stunning, and I have to admit that I'm totally down for owning one in real life. And let's not forget about the little touches – like the phone in the glove compartment, which is actually functional!

But what really takes this toy to the next level is its attention to detail. From the subtle glow of the instrument panel to the hidden details in the engine compartment, every aspect of this toy has been carefully crafted to bring back the essence of the Ecto-1.

Well, I'm not sure yet, but I'm excited to experiment with different configurations and find a way to showcase it in all its glory. tall to fit in here and you're getting an idea about how gigantic this thing is I'm I'm so excited I've I'm also a little daunted because I don't know how we're gonna display this but here we go uh okay all right it is just so huge look I'll admit I have gotten to drive the Ecto one they allowed me to do that when I visited the set of afterlife and next to that this is without a doubt the Ecto of my dreams oh my gosh there's there's spoilers there's another box inside the box that's inside the Box yo dog I heard you like boxes so I got you a box to store that box you like and then you can put them both in a box foreign I just I find the collecting Market totally amazing and often it's specifically about the whole experience of high-end Collectibles like I don't even want to know what the build materials is for this box but it's got a gorgeous front there's some specs and other stuff on the back I mean this is a graphic design dream I'm sure whoever got to put this together was very pleased about it matte printing black on there and again like I said that's lovely that's just like I'm here for that all right oh yeah we got a manual oh you know it's big when it's got velcro Okay so we're going to pop this out and I'm going to do it like this oh my goodness what a beautiful thing if this video causes you to feel hot under the collar for one of blitzway's ecto ones you can pre-order the afterlife ecto-1 and we'll include links in the description um oh yeah okay like that okay good and Beauty yeah I can feel some concentration of weight and there's like oh secret compartment oh man so the unweathered aspect of this is perhaps the most thrilling for me because I can't remember the last time I got to weather something as large as one sixth scale um oh holy Hell's Bells Gore just okay so that is obviously part of the top equipment foreign look at those lights Aziz light what the middles what oh my goodness this is all right I'm just letting it all sink in um wow okay they've included some places for you to actually have some purchase that's nice of them oh oh okay uh oh I just want to make sure there's nothing else in here that is everything there is that where it starts B oh yeah that was nice that was nice oh wow oh oh my God I can't wait to get my hands dirty on this thing this thing is huge I a baby could drive in this thing not quite but oh okay oh there's even more here what what there's a whole thing wow okay so uh we have some things to plug in up here and I'm gonna just clip close the doors and make sure I've got oh wow I forgot about the about the blacked out about the blacked out windows amazing dude they've even Chrome plated with like a warm Chrome that is neat all right the gurney the gurney is here and it's one thing this kid does not have is sixth scale proton packs you gotta buy the figures to get those but the oh it oh no way the gurney opens in a gurney-like way that's Insanity look at that oh my God and then and then right right right so it goes in here and it can do the who does this thing right yeah it does it folds up and folds up oh yeah okay that's really cool but I'll pull that out for right now um that can go there all right first attach the corrugated tube and clamping Parts on the left side of the vehicle by fitting into the joints corrugated tube and clamping parts those are clamping parts and this is corrugated tube and it goes on the left side of the vehicle which means it goes here and yes I see I see that it does that and that the clamping part here let me include you in my fund I I will say it's remarkably light for how gigantic it is so the clamping parts are look to me yep that looks like that one and that goes there oh okay first just guys go there and these guys go there and those are all right yeah come on come on there we go now you're cooperating step one completed step two so the structure we're discussing is this one fascinating oh wow okay so so I see I see now I understand so that is so here's where we're at where this is going to sit like that yep and those sit in there so then the question foreign okay we got the blue and white one and the blue and white one so it's there blue and white and we got the yellow and black one the yellow and black one it's there like that yep red and black blue and white yellow and black blue and white red and black everything is correctly okay so then this comes down here like this that is really nice nice and positive oh there we go it's Dropped In and all the things are connected I'm amazed at everything going on here uh okay so that's step two step three attach the high pressure ventilator and detector Parts well that is this and this so this faces this direction and the detector seems quadrilaterally symmetrical so I won't worry about its orientation that sits there nice okay up now we've got the tube and clamping Parts there's a tube there's there's that and then there's a clamping part okay so that's on the again on this sign of the vehicle every time it takes me a minute to discover something like that I'm sure that Ghostbusters fans are like dude it's not everyone there why don't you know that but in the comments you guys are all very nice piled uh okay so we got the ladder which goes is that what it does yes apparently it does ladder goes there oh and I found the little here we go excellent okay so the ladder is in and then there's this guy which sits like that and then this sits and that does one of those comes yeah comes like that great so that's it's that oh yeah that sits there that sits there and that comes here and then we've got this guy he sits oh that's where the switch is this guy sits where does this guy sit he sits here like that Beauty and this bad boy oh I love this thing this one sits here and faces yes foreign okay and then see then we've got the whip antennas attach the short antenna and along into ah there's the short antenna and they go over here replace the battery look at that oh that's great okay four Double A's let me go grab those yep there we go one two three and four and then there's apparently ah unnecessary there is another battery compartment in here wow wow okay so we'll film that with batteries excellent Okay so pop those batteries out now how to operate LED switching warning like there's the warning lights oh wow and then there's another one back here on the underside ah there we go Okay cool so let's turn them all off how to use the stretcher how to use the MP3 what there's an MP3 player built into this it's also a shaving mirror um any music you want you can store in the provided SD card okay now my mind is fully blown uh how to operate this vehicle yep yep yep okay uh Ford Taurus and the steering actually works and how to install the figures oh my gosh uh right so there's button okay I am not going to activate the MP3 playing features of this but full marks for awesome Mission creep uh uh this goes right I see there's only one place it can go which is that so there it is and now we can do a turning it all on and let's um get it nicely displayed here and dude okay here we go opening the doors looking inside the dashboard is gorgeous oh my God wooden steering wheel I'm totally down for it then there's this equipment in this back with Blinky lights and that is amazing okay we've got a little a little rubber band here we can get rid of the phone wow There's an actual phone crazy we can open the back here all right hahaha yeah yeah so these can uh this lives in here and it's a really nice positive like it lives there nicely got the classic Ecto one license plate oh man they even have like visible light pipes back here they've given you a little bit of extra and the dashboard doesn't light up but hey man it's this it's the 50s and that's the reality uh this is magnificent um is there a amazing look at that the whole engine is there oh oh nice we got some Blinky out of here oh okay oh okay so it does actually ah nice so it does actually stay up thank you there's a little catch there that you got to work on but what the lights are turning I didn't know they could turn that is insanity wait a second is that um is that so when I close the doors well I guess it's just a cycle um that's incredible oh amazing this is insanity sauce how large it is it's just it's it's it's breaking my head um we can even look at the underside oh yeah even look at the underside and there's plenty of detailing on the underside including shock absorbers full muffler system uh yeah you underside ah there we go Okay cool so let's turn them all off how to use the stretcher how to use the MP3 what there's an MP3 player built into this it's also a shaving mirror um any music you want you can store in the provided SD card okay now my mind is fully blown uh how to operate this vehicle yep yep yep okay uh Ford Taurus and the steering actually works and how to install the figures oh my gosh uh right so there's button okay I am not going to activate the MP3 playing features of this but full marks for awesome Mission creep uh uh this goes right I see there's only one place it can go which is that so there it is and now we can do a turning it all on and let's um get it nicely displayed here and dude okay here we go opening the doors looking inside the dashboard is gorgeous oh my God wooden steering wheel I'm totally down for it then there's this equipment in this back with Blinky lights and that is amazing okay we've got a little a little rubber band here we can get rid of the phone wow There's an actual phone crazy we can open the back here all right hahaha yeah yeah so these can uh this lives in here and it's a really nice positive like it lives there nicely got the classic Ecto one license plate oh man they even have like visible light pipes back here they've given you a little bit of extra and the dashboard doesn't light up but hey man it's this it's the 50s and that's the reality uh this is magnificent um is there a amazing look at that the whole engine is there oh oh nice we got some Blinky out of here oh okay oh okay so it does actually ah nice so it does actually stay up thank you there's a little catch there that you got to work on but what the lights are turning I didn't know they could turn that is insanity wait a second is that um is that so when I close the doors well I guess it's just a cycle um that's incredible oh amazing this is insanity sauce how large it is it's just it's it's it's breaking my head um we can even look at the underside oh yeah even look at the underside and there's plenty of detailing on the underside including shock absorbers full muffler system uh yeah you gotta watch out someone's gonna steal the catalytic converter um and I I really don't know how we're going to display this but I can't wait to try foreign thanks to Big Bad Toy Store for finding the stock and sending it to us blitzway your work is amazing uh this is just a stunning stunning execution uh and if this wets your appetite for your own ecto-1 uh Blitz way is offering a weathered afterlife version that can be pre-ordered and you can find that link in the description as to whether or not this specific car will maintain its perfect finish the answer is probably not I I am not sure I can pass up the opportunity to weather this however I literally will have to build a platform just for doing that because this isn't something you just put on your workbench like I gotta have access to all sides of it to be a real fun Excursion uh taking it down and adding some years and mileage on this puppy but I'm up for the task so that will be a future build this year in 23 hopefully uh and we'll we'll we'll we'll take this
