LIVE FROM CES 2012: SONY XPERIA SERIES DEMONSTRATION
Hey guys, this is Austin reporting live from CES 2012 at the Sony booth, and I'm here with Sam to demonstrate some of the latest features from our Xperia series. We're going to start off with a demo of our NFC technology accessory, which we're calling the XPERIA Smart Tags.
As you can see on the screen, this tag is located in our bedroom scenario. Imagine that every time you go to the office, you launch certain applications, turn your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on, and launch your calendar. You can set each individual tag for a specific action and location, and even change any name of the tag or the actions it commits when scanned. This is just one of the features we have on our XPERIA S, using NFC technology.
Moving on to the XPERIA S itself, this phone features our Bravia Reality display, which is the reality Sony Bravia display. It's 4.3 inches and has a pretty unique display, with a clear acrylic bar at the bottom that houses the antenna. The phone also comes equipped with a 720p front-facing camera and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that features our Exmor R sensor. One of the unique features about this phone is the camera and quick capture feature. If you pull your phone out of your pocket, you're at a black screen, but if you press and hold the camera key within 1.5 seconds, it launches and takes a photo. It's kind of a unique feature to have on an Android phone.
The XPERIA S also has a 3.5 audio jack, HDMI out, volume key, and dedicated camera capture, as well as a micro USB port. This phone will be launching in the first quarter, beginning of the second quarter, on a global launch. Next, we're going to move over to our XPERIA Ion demonstration.
The XPERIA Ion is very similar to our XPERIA S, but with one key difference: it has an expandable memory option up to 32 gigabytes. This phone also features our Bravia Reality display, which is sitting in what's called our smart dock. As soon as you put it in, it connects to the TV via HDMI and shows a carousel of items that you can customize when playing music. The orbs respond to your touch, giving you a little bit more of a response there.
The XPERIA Ion features a 1.5 dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, with 1 gigabyte of RAM dedicated to app storage. However, unlike the XPERIA S, this phone has expandable memory options up to 32 gigabytes. Again, this is going to be an AT&T exclusive device launching in the second quarter, and it will also feature a 4.6-inch screen with the same 720p front-facing camera and 12-megapixel rear-facing camera that shoots 1080p video.
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys this is austin reporting live from ces 2012 at the sony booth and sam here with a demo of the sony xperia ion and the xperia x so you want to go ahead and take it away all right so here we're going to this demonstration the xperia smart tags which is basically an nfc technology accessory that's going to be launching in the second quarter you can see by the widget on the screen that it's located now in the bedroom so for instance maybe every time you go to the office that you launch certain applications maybe you turn your bluetooth on you turn your wi-fi on you launch your calendar so you can set each individual tag for a specific action and a specific location you can go through the widget and actually change any name of the tag and the actions that it commits when you scan so it's one of the features that we have on the xperia s just using the nfc um i mean moving on to the xperia s itself it features a bravia display which is the reality sony bravia display it's 4.3 inches it does have a pretty unique display you can see the clear acrylic bar on the bottom that actually houses the antenna in there it does have a 720p front facing camera and then a 12 megapixel uh rear-facing camera that features the exmor r sensor one of the unique features about the phone is the camera and the quick capture so you pull your phone out of your pocket you're at a black screen if you just press and hold the camera key within 1.5 seconds it launches and takes a photo so it's kind of a unique feature to have on a on an android phone it does have a 3.5 audio jack does have hdmi out volume key dedicated camera capture like i showed you and then the micro uh usb this will be launching um into the first quarter beginning of the second quarter on a global launch and then we can move over to i'll show you the xperia ion so very similar to the xperia s it does feature the bravia reality display this one is actually sitting in what's called our smart dock so as soon as you put it in it'll it'll connect to the tv via hdmi and you'll see the carousel of items there you can customize those when you play the music the orbs respond so you get a little bit more of a response there so the xperia s features a 1.5 dual core qualcomm snapdragon processor the ram is one gigabyte it has two gigabytes dedicated to uh to app storage and then also it's 32 internal so there is no expandable memory on the xperia s the xperia ion on the other hand has 16 onboard same specs as the s as far as processor speed and ram but it does have an expandable memory up to 32 gigabytes again the difference is really this is going to be an att exclusive it's going to be an lte device launching in the second quarter uh it is a 4.6 inch screen but it features the same 720p front facing camera and a 12 megapixel uh camera in the back shoots 1080p video so like i said again that will be an att exclusive and the xperia s will be coming out uh global around the same timehey guys this is austin reporting live from ces 2012 at the sony booth and sam here with a demo of the sony xperia ion and the xperia x so you want to go ahead and take it
