Welcome to Awesome Tech, you can't buy it, a weekly show where I bring you the five best crowdfunding projects that have hit the internet this week.
First up, we have the IRL glasses which are a really cool set of spectacles that pretty much just block out any screen that you look at in the real world. If like me are annoyed by how many screens you see and interact with on a daily basis they're everywhere - they're you know they're in bars they're in restaurants if you want to block all that stuff out you can just pop these things on and they have these lenses that are kind of polarized at 90 degrees and will just make every screen that you look at with black. It's a pretty neat idea and the other cool thing about it is because it is not battery powered in any way you don't have to like recharge these things at all if you want to get your hands on these things you have to just throw up about 49 bucks at Kickstarter and they expect to deliver sometime in April 2019.
Next up, we have cyber shoes which are easily the coolest sounding thing on this week's list of products. So what these things are is they are shoes that allow you to interact with virtual reality games and a much more like immersive and realistic way. Instead of just using like a controller or a joystick or whatever to determine where your character goes in a VR game while you're kind of just sitting still these things strap onto the bottom of your shoes and allow you to do like a walking motion and then it will pick that up and move you through the game accordingly. The interesting thing though is that you don't actually stand up to use these you use them while you're sitting in a swivel chair and kind of just drag your feet across the ground it's a little bit weird but in theory it should make games feel a little bit more immersive. If you want to get a set of these bad boys on your feet right now you've got a pony up about a hundred and seventy three dollars on Kickstarter for the early bird pledge if you're a little bit late to the game it goes up to about 197 dollars but if the project succeeds they expect to ship this sometime in January of next year.
Next, we have the Free Right Traveler which is pretty much a typewriter designed for the modern day and designed to just cut out all of the distractions that come with working on a computer or a laptop. So functionally speaking it's just a tiny little keyboard thing it almost looks like a Nintendo DS that flips open it's got a little eating screen on it so it doesn't use a ton of battery and it connects to the internet but it only connects to like Google Drive and Dropbox to save your work. The idea is that by cutting out all those distractions and allowing you to focus solely on what you're putting on the page you should be able to be a little bit more productive when you write stuff if this sounds like something that you're into you got a pledge about 329 dollars to lock one down and they expect to ship sometime in June of 2019.
We also have the Laser Light Core which is a bike light that aims to solve the blind spot problem so you know when you're like riding along in the bike lane and somebody like a big bus or a car or something decides to make a turn and they might not see you if you're at the wrong angle. This is a light that presumably solves that problem and the way it does it is really nifty instead of just beaming a headlight out and hoping that people see you this actually uses a laser light and projects an image of a bicycle onto the road in front of you about six meters away it virtually just extends how long you are on the road. If you want to get your hands on this because they expect to ship in April of 2019.
Last but not least, we have the IRL glasses which are also one of the coolest things we've seen this week. of you about six meters away it virtually just extends how long you are on the road so that people can be aware of your presence before you actually get to that spot on the road throw down about sixty nine dollars and you can get this for the earlybird pledge if you're late to the game you're gonna have to dish out at least 75 bucks but in either case if the project succeeds they expect to ship this in December of 2018 last but not least we have nine ox which is a really clever new take on hammock design hammock camping has become way more popular in the last few years because it's so much more lightweight than carrying like a full-size tent the only problem is that it's not really like super comfortable for a lot of people it's just really tough to get comfortable on a hammock if you like to sleep on your side or on your stomach but this hammock thanks to its really clever design allows you to do that it's got this really crazy wave cut pattern in the sides that allows you to sleep diagonally and that makes you almost perfectly flat when you're laying down the only downside of course is that that comfort comes at a cost you have to dish out at least a hundred and fifty nine dollars for this hammock which is a lot compared to some of the other ones that are already on the market you'll also have to wait until April of 2019 to get your hands on this because that's when they expect to ship but the good news is that spring and that's when you're gonna want to hand camp anyway that does it for this week but be sure to tune in again next week and I will bring you
